After the Others Have Gone

In the aftermath of a large fire in the downtown epicenter of a small village, every breath was foul and tarred. There were no flames, and barely even any smoke left, spare a few slithering wisps from clusters of carbonized debris. Other media had been gone for hours, yet the effects lingered. The Post-Standard already had a gallery of the fire up online by the time I got there. But I was specifically sent for the aftermath. It's a rare treat to shoot spot news with the sole purpose of not shooting the news (at least in my opinion).
